Glutathione is a tripeptide comprised of three amino acids (cysteine, glutamic acid, and glycine) present in most mammalian tissue. It acts as an antioxidant, a free radical scavenger, and a detoxifying agent.
The role of glutathione can reach beyond its traditional role as an antioxidant. Evidence from recent published studies suggests it can be a helpful adjunct to muscle-building protocols, and as a result, potentially reduce the risk for various age-related health issues.
It may additionally reduce oxidative stress. Oxidative stress occurs when there’s an imbalance between the production of free radicals and the body’s ability to fight them off. Too high levels of oxidative stress may be a precursor to multiple diseases. These include diabetes, cancer, and rheumatoid arthritis. It helps stave off the impact of oxidative stress, which may, in turn, reduce disease.
For lyophilized peptides over 50mg, a larger volume of bacteriostatic water may be necessary to achieve full dissolution. Insufficient water can result in undissolved particles remaining.
