Clenbuterol belongs to a class of compounds called beta2-agonists. Compounds in this category can and is used to cause dilation of the bronchial muscles and as such are most often used to treat asthma. In addition to being used to treat asthma, clenbuterol has become popular as a weight loss aid due to its effect on muscle growth and fat reduction.
