Guanfacine
Guanfacine is a non-stimulant prescription medication used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Guanfacine falls into the class of medications called alpha 2a specific adrenergic receptor antagonists or, simply, alpha agonists. These medications activate receptors on nerves that use adrenaline as their neurotransmitter.
