Description
Myo-Inositol Trispyrophosphate (ITPP) Liquid
Myo-inositol trispyrophosphate (ITPP) is a novel allosteric effector (alteration of the enzyme) of hemoglobin with high permeation selectivity across the red blood cell plasma membrane. Due to its potential to reduce the oxygen affinity of hemoglobin, ITPP application results in an enhanced oxygen release in hypoxic tissues. It is currently being investigated in hopes of aiding patients weakened by myocardial infarctions due to its ability to increase oxygen supply to weakened or damaged cardiac muscle.
